Pattern instructions

Bag

Setup

Starting at bottom of bag, ch 28, and work 3 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each st of ch, working 3 sc in last st, working across opposite side of chain work 1 sc in each st, do not join this or following rounds. Place a marker at beginning of each round.

2nd Round

2nd Round: 2 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 25 sc, 2 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 1 sc in each remaining sc.

3rd to 9th Round

3rd to 9th Round: 1 sc in each sc on sides increasing 3 sc evenly spaced around each end in each round.

10th Round

10th Round: Working in back loop of sts only, work 1 sc in each sc.

Body

Working through both loops of sts, work even in sc until bag measures 7½ inches from 10th round, sl st in next st to even round, cut thread. Turn down 1½ inches at top of bag and sew to inside of bag.

Handle

Handle

HANDLE: Crochet a chain 11 inches long, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each remaining st of ch, ch 1 to turn each row. Work 3 more rows of sc, cut thread. Fold lengthwise and sew together forming a tube. Make another handle in same manner. Sew in position on inside of bag. Work 50 flowers same as on hat and sew 25 flowers as illustrated 1 inch from top of bag. Sew the remaining 25 flowers 1 inch from bottom of bag. Cut a cardboard to fit bottom of bag and place in bag.
