Bo Peep Bow Pattern #2439
A mercerized crochet bow with a long mesh tab, pointed edging clusters, and a gathered bow sewn to the tab with a safety pin fastening.
Materials
- Milward's Steel Crochet Hook · No. 10 or 11
Pattern instructions
Tab
Starting at one end, ch 58 (to measure about 3 inches). Sc in 10th ch from hook, (ch 5, skip 3 ch, sc in next ch) 12 times. Ch 6, turn.
Sc in next loop (ch 5, sc in next loop) 12 times. Ch 6, turn. Repeat the 2nd row until piece measures 32 inches. Fasten off.
Edging
Attach thread at end of 1st row, and working along side, ch 7, * skip 1 loop, tr over sc of next loop, ch 3. Repeat from * to end, tr in end loop, (ch 3, tr in same loop) 3 times; then working along short end, (ch 3, tr in next loop) 13 times, (ch 3, tr in same loop) 3 times; then working along other side, ch 3, tr over sc of next loop, and continue thus to end. Ch 5, turn.
* Sc in next tr, ch 5. Repeat from * across to 4 tr-group at corner. (Ch 5, sc in next tr) 3 times. Turn.
Work as follows: Sl st into ch-5 loop, ch 4, 2 tr in same loop holding back the last loop of each tr on hook, thread over and draw through all 3 loops on hook—cluster made. (Ch 3, 3 tr in next loop, holding back the last loop of each tr on hook, thread over and draw through all loops on hook) twice; turn, sl st in sp, ch 4 and complete a cluster as before, ch 5, sl st in tip of cluster, then make a 3 tr cluster in next sp, and fasten off.
Attach thread to same tr where last sc was made, (ch 5, sc in next tr) 3 times; turn and complete same as First Point. Fasten off.
Make four more points in same manner, but do not fasten off at the end of last point. Continue working ch-5 sc loops along side to end. Fasten off.
Bow
Starting at one end, ch 26. Tr in 8th ch from hook, (ch 2, tr in same ch) twice, (skip 5 ch, tr in next ch, ch 2, tr in same ch) 3 times. Turn.
Sl st in next 2 ch and in next tr, (ch 2, tr in same tr) twice, (skip 2 tr, make 3 tr with ch 2 between in next tr) 3 times. Turn. Repeat the 2nd row until piece measures 18 inches.
(Ch 5, sc in sp between 3 tr-groups) 3 times; ch 5, sc in last tr. Turn.
(Sc in next loop, 7 dc in same loop, sc in same loop) 4 times. Fasten off. Attach thread to other end and work scallops in same way.
Finishing
Gather top of Tab. Fold Bow as in illustration, sew securely at center, and sew to top of Tab. Attach safety pin to fasten.
