Select two colors—one to be the main color and the other a contrasting color. Two ivory rings, ⅞-inch in diameter.
With main color, ch 6, turn. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 4 ch.
Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 2 sc, ch 1, turn.
Make sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 3 sc, ch 1, turn.
Work in this manner, making sc in each sc and 2 sc in center sc. Ch 1, turn. At end of 15th row break off.
Attach contrasting color and make a Clones knot as follows: Thread over hook, insert hook in next st, draw out a loop ¼ inch long, thread over, insert hook in same st, draw out another loop, thread over, insert hook in same st, draw out another loop (7 loops on hook), thread over, and draw through all loops on hook. Ch 1 to fasten st. * Then skip 1 sc of previous row, make a Clones knot in next sc, repeat from * across. Break off.
Attach main color to foundation ch and work sc in each of next 5 sc, ch 1, turn.
Work same as before, making sc in each sc and 2 sc in center sc. Ch 1, turn. At end of 6th row, break off. Attach contrasting color and finish same as other end.
Ring
With contrasting color, make enough sc's in ring until entire ring is covered up with sc. Sl st to 1st sc and fasten off, thus completing ring. Pull narrow end of trimming through ring (as in illustration).
