Strap. Make a chain to measure about 6½ inches. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. Work 2 more rows of sc. On next row make a buttonhole 4 sts in from one end (to make a buttonhole, on one row ch 4, skip 3 sc, sc in each sc across; then on next row make sc in sc and in each ch across). Work 2 more rows of sc. Break off. Place center of strap at center back of bootee and pin the remainder of strap along both sides of upper, leaving 1 inch on each side free. Sew on button to correspond with buttonhole. Make another same as this.
