Intermediate Hook No. 10 Curtain Pull

A green crocheted basket curtain pull with yellow and pink six-strand flowers, a chain handle, and a cord.

Materials

  • Milward's steel crochet hook · No. 10

Pattern instructions

Basket

Foundation

Starting at bottom, with Green, ch 30 (to measure about 2¾ inches). Join with sl st to form ring.

1st rnd

Ch 3 (to count as dc), dc in each ch around. Join with sl st to 3rd st of ch-3 first made.

2nd to 7th rnds incl

Ch 5, dc in each dc around. Join with sl st to 3rd st of ch-3 first made. Turn work wrong side out after 7th rnd.

8th rnd

Sl st in next dc, * ch 5, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * 5 more times, ch 5, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc. ** Ch 5, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from ** 5 more times, ch 5, sc in last sl st.

9th rnd

Sl st to center of next ch-5 loop, * ch 7, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around.

10th rnd

Make 8 sc in each loop around. Fasten and break off. This completes basket. Sew 2 bottom edges of basket together. Turn basket right side out, stuff solid part with cotton, and sew together at top dc-row.

Flowers

Foundation

Starting at center, with 3 strands of Yellow ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring.

1st rnd

* Ch 3, dc in ring, ch 3, sc in ring. Repeat from * 3 more times. Break off. This completes one flower. Make another Yellow flower, and 4 Pink flowers.

Note

Fold one side of ch-loops over solid part of basket. Place 5 flowers on each side of basket, as in illustration, having a Yellow flower in center, and sew in place, making a Green French knot at center of each flower.

Attach Green to one side of top dc-row of basket, and ch 45. Join with sl st to opposite side of same row (see illustration). Sc closely together in loop. Break off.
