Pattern instructions
Jacket
With Cream ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd st from hook, join.
2 sc in each sc, do not join or turn this or following rows. Place a marker at the beginning of each row.
1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from beginning all around.
Increase in every 3rd st.
Increase in every 4th st.
Increase in every 3rd st, join.
Work 1 sc in each sc working from back of work and taking up entire st, sl st in next st.
Ch 1, 1 sc in each st, decreasing 1 sc in row, join in 1st sc (39 sc).
Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each sc, join in 3rd st of ch.
Ch 1, 1 sc in each st, join in 1st sc.
Ch 5, dc in same space, * skip 2 sc, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc (shell) in next st, repeat from * all around, join in 3rd st of ch.
Ch 1, 1 sc in same space, * 2 sc in next shell, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc, repeat from * all around in same manner, join. Repeat the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th rows once.
Repeat the 9th and 10th rows twice, break yarn.
Roses
With Yellow ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd st from hook, join, break yarn.
Attach Pink, ch 3, sc in next sc, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join.
Working in back of work, * ch 5, sc in next sc of previous row, repeat from * all around, join, break yarn. Work 1 more flower in same manner.
Leaf
With Green ch 4, sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in next st of ch, 3 sc in end st, working on opposite side of ch, 1 sc in next st, sl st in next st, sl st in 1st sc, break yarn. Work 3 more leaves in same manner. Applique flowers and leaves to jacket as illustrated.
Initials
With basting thread trace initial desired on jacket. With Contrasting Color crochet a chain long enough to cover letter, then work a sl st in each st of ch, break yarn. Sew over tracing.
Numerals
Work in same manner as initials.
