1st BLOCK-(Size-2½ inches)-With Chartreuse ch 6, join with sl st to form ring.

ROW 1-Ch 4, 15 dc in ring, join with sl st in 1 lp of top st of ch-4.

ROW 2-Ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 4, holding back the last lp of each dc on hook, make 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, thread over and draw thru all lps on hook (Cluster made), ch 5, a 2-dc Cluster in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, sk 1 dc on center, sc in next dc. Repeat from * 7 times, joining to 1st sc. Draw out lp, pass ball thru and pull tight. Insert hook up between next 2 Clusters, catch thread and pull thru, ch 1 tightly, sc between same 2 Clusters.

ROW 3-(Ch 7, sc in center of next Cluster-lp) 7 times, ch 7, sl st in 1st sc.

ROW 4-Ch 1, sc in same st, (9 sc in next lp, sc in next sc) repeated around. Join with sl st in back lp of 1st sc.

ROW 5-Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in back lp of each sc around. Join with sl st in back lp of 1st sc.

ROW 6-Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 6 sc, ch 4, sl st in last sc for a p, (sc in next 8 sc, a p, sc in next 12 sc, a p *) repeated around, ending with 5 sc, sl st in both lps of 1st sc. Fasten off.

2d BLOCK-Repeat to * in Row 6. Sc in next 8 sc, ch 2, sl st in No. 1 p on 1st Block, ch 2, sl st back in last sc (joining-p made), sc in next 12 sc, ch 2, sl st in next No. 8 p on 1st Block, ch 2, sl st back in last sc. Complete row with 8 sc, p, 12 sc, p, 8 sc, p, 5 sc, sl st in both lps of 1st sc. Fasten off.

3d BLOCK-Join this by Nos. 6 and 7 ps to corresponding Nos. 3 and 2 ps on 1st Block.

4th BLOCK-Join by Nos. 4 and 5 ps to Nos. 1 and 8 ps on 3d Block and by Nos. 6 and 7 ps to Nos. 3 and 2 ps on 2d Block. This brings the end of rows in the same position on all Blocks.

CENTERPIECE-Make 36 Blocks in Chartreuse and join 4 x 9.

PLACE MAT-Make 35 Blocks and join 5 x 7.

COASTER-Make 4 Blocks and join into a square.

Make a Place Mat and a Coaster in each of 4 remaining colors.

Stretch and pin doilies right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.
