Kate Greenaway Luncheon Set Pattern #7320
Kate Greenaway luncheon set with a centerpiece about 16 inches in diameter, 4 place doilies about 12½ inches, 4 bread and butter plate doilies about 7½ inches, and 4 glass doilies about 5 inches in charted filet tr mesh with sc edging. Originally published in Spool Cotton #157, New Table Talk.

Pattern instructions
Centerpiece
CENTERPIECE... Starting at bottom of chart, ch 68 (16 ch sts to 1 inch).
1st row: Tr in 11th ch from hook, * ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in next ch (2 sps made). Repeat from * across (15 sps made). Ch 18, turn.
2nd row: Tr in 11th ch from hook, ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in next ch, ch 3, tr in last tr made on previous row (thus increasing 3 sps at beginning of row). Ch 3, tr in next tr (thus making sp over sp). Make sp over next 14 sps, ch 7, tr in same ch as last tr made. * Ch 7, turn; tr in 4th st of previous ch-7. Repeat from * once more, turn, sl st to 4th st of last ch-7 (3 end sps increased). Ch 18, turn.
3rd row: Inc. 3 sps as before, work sp over 21 sps, inc. 3 sps at end of row. Ch 14, turn.
4th row: Inc. 2 sps along ch-14, make sp over next 13 sps, 3 tr in next sp, tr in next tr (bl made over sp). Make sp over next 13 sps; ch 7, tr in same ch as last tr, ch 7, turn; tr in 4th st of last ch-7 made (2 sps increased). Ch 14, turn.
5th row: Inc. 2 sps, sp over 14 sps, bl over next sp, tr in next 3 tr, tr in next tr (thus making bl over bl). Make bl over next sp, make 14 sps, inc. 2 sps. Ch 10, turn.
6th row: Tr in last tr made (1 sp increased); work across previous row, following chart. Ch 7, tr in same ch as last tr, turn, sl st to 4th st of ch-7 (1 sp increased). Ch 10, turn.
Now follow chart until 39 rows are made (when there are no increases, ch 7 to turn).
40th row: Sl st across 1st sp and in next tr, ch 7 (this counts as tr and ch-3). Follow chart across to within last sp of previous row (1 sp decreased at each end).
Now follow chart to top. Do not break off, but work sc all around, keeping work flat. Break off.
Place Doilies
PLACE DOILIES ... Ch 60 and follow chart (13 sps on 1st row). Work sc all around doily.
Bread And Butter Plate Doilies
BREAD and BUTTER PLATE DOILIES ... Ch 36 and follow chart (7 sps on 1st row). Work sc all around doily.
Glass Doilies
GLASS DOILIES ... Ch 28 and follow chart (5 sps on 1st row). Work sc all around doily.
Block all pieces to measurements.
