Pattern instructions

Bag

Setup

BAG With Cinnamon ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd st from hook, do not join this or following rounds. Place a marker at beginning of each round.

2nd Round

2nd Round: Work 2 sc in each sc.

3rd Round

3rd Round: * 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * all around.

4th Round

4th Round: Working in sc increase in every 3rd st.

5th Round

5th Round: Increase in every 4th st.

Continue increasing

Continue in same manner having 1 sc more between increasing points in each round, until the 18th round is completed.

19th Round

19th Round: 1 sc in each sc. Work should measure about 6 inches in diameter.

20th Round

20th Round: Working in back loops of sts, work 1 sc in each sc.

21st Round

21st Round: Same as 19th round, slip st in next 2 sc to even round, cut thread.

1st Motif Round

1st Motif Round: With Yellow ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 3, join to any sc on last round of bag, work 15 more dc in ring, join to 3rd st of ch (16 dc), cut thread.

2nd Motif

2nd Motif: With Yellow ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 3, join to 5th dc of 1st motif, work 4 dc in ring, skip 5 sc on last round of bag, join to next sc, work 11 more dc in ring, join in 3rd st of ch, cut thread.

3rd Motif

3rd Motif: With Yellow ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 3, join to 9th dc of 2nd motif, 4 dc in ring, skip 5 sc on last round of bag, join in next sc, work 11 more dc in ring, join in 3rd st of ch, cut thread.

Remaining motifs

With Yellow work 15 more motifs same as 3rd motif, joining in same manner and joining last motif to 1st motif.

2nd Motif Round

2nd Motif Round: With Cinnamon work same as 4th motif round of hat. Repeat last round 4 times, working 1 round in Yellow, 1 round in Cinnamon, 1 round in Yellow and 1 round in Cinnamon.

Edging

EDGING 1st Round

EDGING: Attach Cinnamon to center dc of any motif of last round, ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 5, sc in center dc of next motif, repeat from * all around, ch 5, join in 1st sc.

2nd Round

2nd Round: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, * 5 sc in next ch 5 loop, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * all around, ending with 5 sc in last loop, join in 1st sc.

3rd Round

3rd Round: Beading: Ch 5, * skip 2 sc, dc in next sc, ch 2, repeat from * all around, join in 3rd st of ch 5.

4th Round

4th Round: Ch 5, 1 trc in each dc and 2 trc in each ch 2 space, join in 5th st of ch, cut thread.

Finishing

FINISHING

FINISHING: Cut cardboard about 6 inches in diameter to fit bottom of bag.

Lining

LINING

LINING: Cut 2 circles ½ inch larger than cardboard. Sew circles together leaving an opening large enough to insert cardboard. Turn work right side out, insert cardboard and overcast opening closed. Cut material about 2½ inches by 10 inches. Sew short sides together. Sew one free edge around circle of lining. Place in bag. Turn free edge at top and sew in position below beading.
