Striped luncheon mat about 10'' %2 x 20 inches in Star Pearl Cotton with picot rows and matching fringe in Linen, Yellow, Dark Steel Blue, Green, and Red. Originally published in Star #22, Book of Doilies.

Pattern instructions
Mat
With Red, ch 116, sc in 2nd st from hook, sc in each remaining st of ch.
2nd Row. Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, * ch 3, sl st in top of dc for picot, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, repeat from * across row. Break thread always leaving an end about 2% inches long for fringe.
3rd Row. Attach Linen, ch 7, sl st in 4th st from hook for picot, dc in next st, * sl st in top of picot of previous row, dc in next st, picot, dc in next st, repeat from * across row, sl st in top of picot, break thread.
Repeat 3rd row for pattern working 1 row Dark Steel Blue, 1 row Yellow, 1 row Green, then repeat 1 row each of all Colors from beginning. Following Color scheme, work 2 rows of each Color, then work 3 rows Red, 7 rows Linen. Starting with 3 rows Red, work other side to correspond reversing Colors.
Work to within end row of Red. Attach Red, ch 3, turn, 1 dc in next st, sl st in picot, * 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, sl st in picot, repeat from * across row. Ch 3, turn, work 1 dc in each st across row.
Fringe. Wind strands over a 3 inch cardboard, cut one end, take 2 strands, loop through end, pick up matching strand, pull all ends through loop.
Follow same Color scheme in fringe as used in crocheting.
