Modern Heirloom Table Doily Set Pattern #2

1st BLOCK-Ch 10, dc in 10th ch from hook, (ch 5, dc) twice in same st, ch 5, join with sl st in next 4th ch.

ROW 2- Ch 1, sc in same st, * 3 sc in half of next ch-5, ch 19, tr in 11th ch from hook, ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 2, sk 2 ch, hdc in next ch, ch 2, 3 sc in bal. of ch-5 on center, sc in next dc. Repeat from * 3 times, joining to 1st sc.

ROW 3- Ch 1, turn, * 3 dc in 1st sp on next petal, dc in next hdc, (3 dc in next sp, dc in next st) twice, 17 dc in end lp, (dc in next st, 3 dc in next sp) 3 times, sl st in center sc between petals. Repeat from * 3 times.

ROW 4-Ch 1, turn, sk 1st dc * and working in back lps only of dc, make sc in next 16 dc, (2 sc in next dc) 7 times, sc in next 16 dc, sk 1st dc on next petal and repeat from * around. Join with sl st in both lps of 1st 5 sc.

ROW 5-Ch 3, * sk 25 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1, sk 1 sc, dc in next sc, (ch 5, sc in 5th ch from hook for ap, sk 1 sc, dc in next sc) 14 times, ch 1, sk 1 sc, dc in next sc, sk 2 sc, dc in next sc, dc in 5th sc on next petal. Repeat from * around. Join to top of 1st ch-3. Cut 6" long, thread to a needle and fasten off on back.

ROW 6-Join to 5th p on one petal, ch 10, sk 1 p, tr in next p, * ch 13, tr in next p, ch 7, sk 1 p, dc in next p, ch 7, sk 2 ps, tr in next p, ch 7, tr in 2 d p on next petal, ch 7, sk 2 ps, dc in next p, ch 7, sk 1 p, tr in next p. Repeat from * around. Join to 3d st of ch-10.

ROW 7-Ch 5, sc in center of next lp, ch 5, sc in next tr, * (ch 5, sc) twice to center of corner lp, ch 7, sc in same center, (ch 5, sc) twice to next tr, (ch 5, sc in next lp, ch 5, sc in next st between lps) 5 times. Repeat from * around, ending with ch-2 and dc for final lp.

ROW 8-(Ch 5, sc in next lp) 5 times to corner lp, * ch 7, sc in same corner lp, (ch 5, sc in next lp) repeated around with an extra ch-7 lp at corners (as at 1st corner). Join and fasten off.

2d BLOCK-Repeat to * in Row 8. Ch 3, sl st in one lp of center st of a corner lp on 1st Block, ch 3, sc back in same corner lp on 2d Block, (ch 2, sl st in next lp on 1st Block, ch 2, sc back in next lp on 2d Block) repeated to corner, ch 3, sl st in one lp of center st of next corner lp on 1st Block, ch 3, sc back in same corner lp on 2d Block. Complete row as for 1st Block. Join and fasten off.

PLACE MAT-Make 12 Blocks and join 3 x 4.

EDGE ROW 1-Join to one corner, * (ch 5, sc in next lp) repeated across to next corner, ch 7, sc in same corner lp. Repeat from * around, ending with ch-3 and dc for final corner lo.

ROW 2-Repeat Row 1.

ROW 3-* Ch 5, sc in next lp, (ch 3, sc in next lp) repeated across to lp before corner lp, ch 5, sc in corner lp. Repeat from * around. Join.

ROW 4-* Sc in next ch-5 lp, ch 4, sl st in last sc for ap, 2 sc, ap and 2 sc in bal. of same lp, (2 sc, p, 2 sc) in each ch-3 lp across, (2 sc, p, 2 sc, p, 1 sc) in 1st ch-5 lp at corner, (1 sc, p, 1 sc) in corner sc. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.

BREAD AND BUTTER PLATE DOILY-Join 4 Blocks into a square. Repeat 4 rows of Edge.

GLASS DOILY-Make one Block. Repeat 4 rows of Edge.

Stretch and pin doilies right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.
