Lace measures 32% inches deep. Center design measures 382 inches wide, and requires 2890 yds. of thread. Every 6% inches of plain design on sides requires about 485 yds. of thread.

Lace
Starting at bottom, make a chain (18 chain sts to linch) to measure ¥%3 longer than desired length.
1st row: Dcin 4th ch from hook, dcineachch across for desired length (number of dc should be divisible by 120, plus 1). Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn.
2nd row: Dcineachdc across. Ch 5, turn.
3rd row: Skip Ist 3dc,*dcinnext dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc. Repeat from * across (number of spaces should be divisible by 40). Ch 3, turn.
4th row: * Dcin each of next 2ch, dc innext dc. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn.
5th row: Dcineach of 21dc(7bls), ch2, skip 2d c,dcinnext dc(1sp); make 4 more sps, dc in each of next 45 dc (15 bls), * 5sps, 15 bls. Repeat from * across, ending with 8 bls. Ch 3, turn.
Hereafter, starting at 6th row, follow chart until 26 rows are completed, always repeating the design the necessary number of times.
Now find the center 117 sps of lace and mark with pins (for Ist row of center design). Starting at 27th row, follow chart to top. Fasten off.
