Each completed panel measures about 14 x 21 inches, and requires about 500 yds. of thread.

Choose one of the following threads in White, size 30: Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet. J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet. J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet.

CROSS PANEL... Starting at bottom of panel, ch 68.

1st row: Dcin8thch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc innext ch(sp). Repeat from * across (21sps). Ch 5, turn.

2nd row: Dcinnext dc(sp oversp),*2dcinnextsp,dcinnextdc (bl). Repeat from * to within last sp, ch 2, dcin 3rd st of turning ch-8. Ch10, turn.

3rd row: Dcin 8thch from hook, ch2, dc in lst dc of previous row, sp over Ist sp, dc ineach of next 3dc (1bl); ch 2, skip 2dc,dcinnext dc; make 16 more sps, I bl, 1]sp,ch5,dcatbase of lastdc made, ch5,dcin 3rd st of previous ch-5 (2 sps increased at each end). Ch 5, turn.

4th row: Sp over Ist sp, 3 bls, 1 sp, 15 bls,1sp, 3 bls, 1sp. Ch 10, turn.

5th row: Inc. 2 sps; 1 sp, 1bl,3sps,1bl,1sp,ch3, skip 2dc,scinnextdc,ch3, skip 2dc,dcinnext dc (lacet); ch5, skip 5dc, dcinnext dc (bar); make 1 more lacet, | bar, 1lacet, 1 bar, 1 bl, 3 sps, 1 bl, 1sp,inc. 2sps. Ch5, turn.

6th row: Sp over Ist sp, 3 bls, lsp, 3bls,ch3,scin 3rd chof ch-5,ch3,dcinnext dc, ch5,dcinnext dc; 1lacet, 1 bar, 1lacet, 1 bar, 1sp, 3 bls, 1 sp, 3bls,1sp. Ch 28, turn.

Make 8 sps onch-28. Then follow chart to top—to inc. sps at beginning of row, make 3ch foreach sp to be added, plus 4 ch. (Where an odd number of sps is increased at end of row, turn after last sp and sI st to 3rd st of ch-5, before beginning next row.) Fasten off.

LILY PANEL... Ch 68 and follow chart to top. Fasten off.

Make desired number of Cross Panels (an odd number is necessary). Make 1 panel less of Lily Panels. Sew Cross Panels and Lily Panels together alternately, with neat over-and-over stitches on wrong side.

Across top of lace, work arow of tr Separated by ch-2, having sps directly over d c-sps. Ch 3, turn and. keeping work flat, work arow of dc. Fasten off.

Work arow of sc along lower edge of lace, making ch-2 at points.
