Rose Pin Pattern
Crocheted rose pin with stuffed calyx, layered petals, leaves, and gathered veiling in pearl cotton. Originally published in Spool Cotton #208, Fascinating Toppers.

Where more than one color is used, a ball of each color is required.
Follow picture for trimmings.
Rose—Calyx
With Black ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2 sc in each sc around.
Sc in each sc around. Insert pin through center and stuff.
* Work off the next 2 sc as 1 sc (a dec), sc in next sc. Repeat from * around.
* Work off 2 sc as 1 sc. Repeat from * around. Break off.
Rose
With Dusty Pink, ch 4, join.
(Ch 3, sc in ring) 8 times.
* In front loop of next sc make sc, half dc, dc, half dc and sc. Repeat from * around.
* Ch 3, sc in back loop of next sc on 1st rnd. Repeat from * around.
In each sp make sc, half dc, 3 dc, half dc, sc. Join. Break off.
Embroider 5 Yellow French knots in center. Sew Rose to Calyx.
Leaf
With Green, ch 11. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in next ch, dc in next 5 ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch. Work on other side of ch-11 to correspond. Break off. Sew on Leaves.
Veiling
Cut 2 pieces of veiling 1½ x 8 inches. Gather the length of veiling to fit Calyx and stitch in place.
