3rd rnd: (Ch 5, sc in next loop) 11 times; ch 2, dc in dc.

4th rnd: (Ch 4, sc in next loop) 11 times; ch 4, sc in dc.

5th rnd: * 3 sc in next loop, ch 5, 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 2, sl st in same st (petal made), ch 6, in 4th ch from hook make dc, 3 tr and dc, ch 2, sl st in same st (another petal made), ch 6, in 4th ch from hook make dc, 2 tr, ch 5, sl st in last tr (p o made), in same place make (2 tr, p) twice; 2 tr and dc, ch 2, sl st in same place (a large petal made). Ch 6, in 4th ch from hook make dc, 3 tr and dc; ch 2, sl st in same place, dc between 1st 2 petals, ch 5, 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 2, sl st in same place, ch 1, sl st in last sc made on center, 2 sc in same loop on center, 5 sc in next loop. Repeat from * 5 more times. Join and fasten off.

6th rnd: Attach thread to 1st of 3 p's on any large petal, * ch 12, skip next p, sc in next p, ch 8, tr in tip of next petal, tr in tip of corresponding petal on next group, ch 8, sc in next p. Repeat from * around. Join.

7th rnd: * In ch-12 sp make 7 sc, p and sc; in each ch-8 sp make 5 sc, p and 5 sc. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.

Second Motif ... Work as for 1st motif to 6th rnd incl. 7th rnd: 7 sc in next sp, ch 2, sc in corresponding p of 1st motif, ch 2, sl st in last sc made on motif in work and complete rnd as for 1st motif, joining next 3 p's as before. Make 19 motifs in all, joining as in diagram, as 2nd motif was joined to 1st. Where 3 corner p's meet, join 3rd p to joining of previous 2.

Make 39 motifs, joining as in diagram.

Make 1 motif for each napkin. Cut a 12-inch square of linen; make a narrow hem. Place a motif over linen at one corner (see illustration) and sew motif to linen. Cut away excess linen under motif and hem.
