Toilet Seat Cover

Foundation

If cover is desired without the loop sts, work in same manner but work those rows in sc instead of loop sts. Ch 26, sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row

2nd Row. 1 sc in each sc, ch 1 to turn all rows.

3rd Row

3rd Row. Working in sc, increase 1 sc at beginning and end of row, then work 2 rows even.

Repeat shaping

Repeat the last 3 rows 3 times, then work 1 more row even.

16th Row

16th Row. Increase 1 sc at beginning and end of row, then work 9 rows even.

26th Row

26th Row. Decrease 1 sc at beginning and end of row.

27th Row

27th Row. Work even.

Repeat decrease rows

Repeat the last 2 rows twice.

Next 3 Rows

Next 3 Rows. Decrease 1 sc at beginning and end of each row.

35th Row

35th Row. Work even.

Next 3 Rows

Next 3 Rows. Decrease 1 sc at beginning and end of each row.

39th and 40th Rows

39th and 40th Rows. Decrease 2 sts at beginning and end of each row, without cutting yarn work a row of sc all around working 1 sc in each row on sides, 1 sc in each sc at top and lower edge working 3 sc in each of the 2 corners at lower edge, join in 1st sc, cut yarn.

Loop stitch border

Attach yarn in center st at corner and working on wrong side, work 3 loop sts in same space (loop st: wind yarn over index finger, insert hook in st, draw yarn through pulling yarn from under finger, drop loop from finger letting loop fall to right side of work and complete sc), loop st in each st increasing in every 6th st on shaped sides and working 3 sc in center st at lower corner, join.

Next Round

Next Round. 1 loop st in each loop st working 3 loop sts in center st at the 2 corners at lower edge, join.

Next 2 Rounds

Next 2 Rounds. 1 loop st in each loop st across lower edge working 3 loop sts in center st at each corner, 1 loop st in each loop st on shaped sides increasing as necessary to keep work flat, join each round.

Next Round

Next Round. Ch 1, turn and working on right side of cover, work 1 sc in each loop st around curved sides, decreasing every 5th st across the straight side at lower edge, turn.

Next Row

Next Row. Working around curved sides only, ch 3, skip 1 sc, sdc in next sc, (sdc: yarn over hook, insert in st, pull loop through, yarn over and work off all loops at one time), * ch 1, skip 1 sc, sdc in next sc, repeat from * to same space at opposite corner, ch 3, turn.

Next Row

Next Row. Sdc in next sdc, * ch 1, sdc in next sdc, repeat from * to same space at opposite corner, cut yarn. Crochet a ch about 1½ yds. long and lace through last row of meshes.

2nd Row. Sc in next sc, 1 loop st in each of the next 58 sc, sc in next st, ch 1 to turn all rows.

3rd Row

3rd Row. 1 sc in each sc.

4th Row

4th Row. Same as 2nd row.

5th Row

5th Row. Same as 3rd row.

6th Row

6th Row. 1 sc in next sc, 1 loop st in each of the next 2 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 54 sc, 1 loop st in each of the next 2 sc, sc in last sc.

7th Row

7th Row. 1 sc in each sc.

Repeat rows

Repeat the last 2 rows 7 times.

22nd Row

22nd Row. Same as 2nd row.

23rd Row

23rd Row. Same as 3rd row.

Repeat and finish

Repeat the last 2 rows once, cut yarn.

Section Strip

SECTION STRIP

SECTION STRIP: Ch 25 and working over a wire, sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each remaining st of ch, cut yarn. Work another strip in Same manner and sew in position as illustrated. If desired sew a strip of elastic underneath and slip under lid of tank.
