Choose one of the following threads in White, size 50: Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet. J.& P. Coats Mercerized Crochet. J.& P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet.

Lace

Foundation

Starting at lower edge, make a chain (18 chain sts to 1 inch) to measure ¥% longer than desired length.

1st row

Dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * for desired length (number of spaces should be divisible by 124). Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.

2nd row

Dc in next dc (sp over sp); ch 2 and make 26 more sps, dc in each of next 2 ch, dc in next dc (1 bl made); make 6 more bls, 55 sps, 7 bls, 28 sps (this completes one pattern). Repeat pattern the necessary number of times. Ch 5, turn.

3rd row

Hereafter, starting with 3rd row, follow chart to top, always repeating the design the necessary number of times, and making Cross over center design only.
