A motif afghan of about 42 x 63 inches worked in Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn with 24 colorful motifs edged and joined in black.
Materials
- Aluminum Crochet Hook · Size K or any size hook which will result in stitch gauge
Pattern instructions
Motif
24 Motifs, 4 x 6, are required.
Ch 26, sc in 2nd st from hook, * ch 1, skip next st of ch, sc in next st of ch, repeat from * across row, ch 1, turn.
Sc in 1st sc, * dc in next ch 1 space, sc in next sc, repeat from * across row.
Sc in 1st sc, * ch 1, skip next dc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across row, ch 1, turn.
Repeat the last 2 rows until work measures 10 inches, cut yarn.
With Black working around entire motif work 1 sc in each st across top and lower edge, 1 sc in each row on sides and 3 sc in each corner st, join, cut yarn.
Work 20 more Motifs in same manner working 3 Motifs of each color.
Then with yarn left over from each color work 3 more motifs in same manner working 3 rows of each color.
Finishing
Block each Motif. With Black sew Motifs tog sewing through back loop of sts arranging colors as illustrated.
