Pattern instructions

Afghan

Starting

Starting at narrow edge with Aqua, make a chain to measure 60 inches.

1st Row

Dc in 6th ch from hook, ch 1, * skip next ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * across, until row measures 45 inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 4, turn.

2nd Row

Skip first dc, * dc in next dc, ch 1. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 1, skip 1 ch of turning chain, dc in next ch. Ch 4, turn.

Repeat

Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 66 inches. Break off.

Stripes

1st Stripe

Using 1 strand each of Blue Jewel and Black make a loop on hook, insert hook in first sp on first row, ch 2, * insert hook in next sp, ch 4, remove loop from hook, insert hook in next sp and draw dropped loop through. Repeat from * across. Break off.

2nd Stripe

Make a loop on hook, insert hook in first sp on 2nd row, * ch 4, remove loop from hook, insert hook in next sp and draw dropped loop through, insert hook in next sp. Repeat from * across. Break off.

Repeat Stripes

Always working from same side (raised side is right side), repeat the last 2 stripes alternately until entire afghan has been completed.

Finishing

Finishing

Sew ribbon around outer edges of afghan, mitering corners. Block to measurements.
