Bib Apron Pattern #3104

WAIST BAND. With Color, cha little longer than waist size, work] dcin 3rd st from hook, 1dc ineach remaining st or until correct size, (cut off remaining ch) ch 3, turn, work 3dc,ch 4 for buttonhole, skip 4 sts, 1dcineach remaining dc, ch 3, turn and work 1 more row of dc, break thread.

Attach White and work arrow of star sts all around.

Star st: ch 3, pick up the 2nd and 3rd st from hook, the next 2 dc, thread over and pull through allloops on needle, ch 1, (the ch lis termed the eye of the star st) * pick up the eye, side of star and the next 2 dc, thread over and pull through all loops on needle, ch 1, repeat from * all around, break thread.

The apron section is worked over the 60 center star sts.

Ch 3, pick up the 2nd and 3rd st of ch, top and eye of star st, thread over and pull through all loops on needle, ch], * pick up the eye and side of star st just made, the side and eye of star stin previous row and complete star st, repeat from * across row, ch 3, turn and repeat star st row until work measures about 3% inches.

Next Row is worked indc, (allincreases are made inthe d crows) ch 3, **2dc over |lloop of Ist star st, 1d cin eye of star st, 2 dc overloop of next star st, 1dcineye of star st, *] dc over loop of next star st, 1d cin eye of star st, repeat from * 8 times, then repeat from ** across row ending with an increase in the last 2 star sts, break thread.

Join Color and work 2 rows of star sts, break thread. Join White and work star sts for 3% inches. Repeat dc row. Continue in same manner until there are 4 White stripes and 4 Color stripes.

With White, work a row of s c around 2 sides and lower edge of apron working 28 s c over each White stripe, 4s c over each Color stripe and 2s c over loops of each star st on lower edge.

BIB. Work over the 40 center star sts until bib measures about 6% inches, then start shaping. Work over 20 sts, ch 2, turn, decrease by working in loop of Ist star st, eye of Ist star st, loop and eye of next star st, complete st and work to end of row.

Next Row—Work 1/7 star sts, then decrease by picking up the side of star st just made, eye of star st, side of next star st and the ch 2, complete st and continue working back and forthin same manner until there are 4 star sts in row. Continue on the 4 star sts for 21 inches, break thread and work other side to correspond.

RUFFLE. Join White, * ch 6, skip 3sc,scinnextsc, repeat from * all around, ch 6, turn.

2nd Row—Skip Ist loop, scinnextloop, *ch6,scinnext loop, repeat from * all around and sl stin same space with Ist loop, ch 7, turn.

3rd Row—Skip Istloop,scinnextloop, *ch/7,scinnext loop, repeat from * all around working last loop insame space as previous row, ch 7, turn.

4th Row—Same as 3rd row ending row in next star st of band, ch 7, turn.

5th Row—Skip Ist loop, sc innext loop, *ch7,scinnext loop, repeat from * to lower edge of apron, then increase, *ch7,scovernextloop,ch7,scoversame loop, ch/7,sc over next loop, repeat from * across lower edge and work other side to correspond. Work one more row of 7 ch loops, break thread.

SCALLOP. Join Colorinloop, **ch3,*2dcinsame space,ch3,slstinlast dc for picot, ch 2, repeat from * twice, ch 3,s cinnext loop and repeat from ** all around. Around bib, band and straps work a row of star sts in Color and finish band with a button.
