PLACE MAT—Motif (Make 20) ... Starting at Center with China Blue, ch 2.

1st rnd: 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. Drop China Blue.

2nd rnd: Attach White, ch 4, dc in same place, * ch 1, always working in back loop of each sc throughout, make dc, ch 1 and dc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join. Drop White.

3rd rnd: Pick up China Blue, sc in 3rd ch of ch-4, * sc in next sp, sc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

4th rnd: Pick up White, ch 4, dc in same place, * ch 1, skip 1 sc, in next sc make dc, ch 1 and dc. Repeat from * around. Join. Drop White.

5th rnd: Repeat 3rd rnd.

6th rnd: Pick up White, ch 4, dc in same place, * ch 1, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1, skip 1 sc, in next sc make dc, ch 1 and dc. Repeat from * around. Join. Drop White.

7th rnd: Repeat 3rd rnd. Join and break off.

Cut an oval of organdy, 13 x 18 inches. Place center of each motif on edge of oval. Baste and sew in place, joining motifs together. Cut away excess material and hem raw edges. Make 3 more Place Mats in same manner.

APRON —Motif (Make 28) ... Work exactly as for Motif of Place Mat. Cut a semi-circle 15 x 28 inches. Place 23 motifs on circular edge and complete as for Place Mat. Gather top edge to measure 13 inches. With remaining material make waistband and ties and sew in place.

POCKET... Form a circle with 5 motifs and make a pocket to fit motifs. Sew in place.
