With White, ch 61 and work 60 sc on ch, ch 1, turn. 2nd Row. 1 sc in each of the first 10 sc (front), 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sc (shoulder), 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 24 sc (back), 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sc (shoulder), 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 10 sc (front), ch 1, turn. 3rd & 4th Rows. 1 sc in each sc and 3 sc in center sc of each increasing point, work 1 row even. Work 7 more rows increasing in same way every other row.

13th Row. Ch 3, yarn over, insert needle in first st of ch, and pull through, yarn over, insert in first sc, yarn over and pull through all loops on needle, ch 1, yarn over, insert needle in lower loop of st just made, pull through, yarn over, insert in next sc, pull through, yarn over and pull through all loops on needle, repeat from * across row. Work another row even. 15th & 16th Rows. Increase one st over increasing points. 17th Row. Work to first increasing point and increase, ch 5, skip 20 shoulder sts and continue pattern across back, ch 5, skip shoulder sts, increase in next st and continue pattern across front. 18th Row. Work even, having 3 patterns at underarm and work 14 rows even.

SLEEVES. Join wool at underarm and work 14 rows of pattern, 1 row of sc, working into eye of st only and work 3 more rows of sc. With Pink work a row of shells all around jacket and lower edge of sleeves. Ch 2, 1 dc in same space, skip a space the length of shell and sl st into side of work, repeat all around. Crochet a chain with Pink, lace through 1st row of sc and finish ends with small pompoms. Embroider the Yoke with Rambler Roses, using 6 strands of the Deep Pink for the centers and Pink for one row of outline st around the centers.

With White, ch 3, join, ch 1 and work 8 sc in ring. 2nd Row. 2 sc in each sc. 3rd Row. Increase in every 3rd sc. 4th Row. Work in pattern same as jacket, working 1 pattern in each st and work 1 more row even, break yarn. 6th Row. With Pink work a row of sc, 1 sc in each loop and 1 sc in each eye of st and work one more row of sc even, break yarn. 8th Row. With White work pattern even. 9th Row. Work pattern, leaving the last 12 patterns free for back of neck, 1 sc in next pattern, ch 3, turn. Work 2 more rows on these sts, ending each row with sc in back of bonnet. 12th Row. Work pattern all around bonnet. 13th Row. Work pattern, leaving 8 center sts of back free, break yarn.

14th Row. With Pink, 1 sc in eye of pattern, ch 1, repeat from * 4 times, increase in next pattern by working into loop and eye of st, continue row, increasing after every 5th pattern, work across back of bonnet even. 15th Row. Work 1 sc in each sc with ch 1 between sc. 16th Row. With White. Work 1 pattern in each sc, leaving 10 sc at back of bonnet free, ch 3, turn and work 5 more rows even. 22nd Row. 1 sc with ch 1 between in each eye of pattern, ch 1, turn. 23rd Row. 1 sc in sc, 1 sc in ch, repeat from * 3 times. 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in ch, repeat from ** to last 8 sts and repeat between *. 24th, 25th & 26th Rows. 1 sc in each sc. 27th & 28th Rows. With Pink work 1 sc in each sc. 29th Row. Work a row of shells around front of bonnet. Across back of bonnet work 1 row of sc in White. With Pink ch 40 for tie, and beginning at 1st row of pattern in front of bonnet work a row of sc across lower edge, ch 40 for other tie, break yarn and finish ties with small pompoms.

With White, ch 15, 4 sdc in 3rd st from hook, 1 sdc in each of the next 11 sts, 5 sdc in last st, 1 sdc in each of the next 11 sts on opposite side of ch, join each row. 2nd Row. Ch 2, 1 sdc in same st, 2 sdc in each of the next 4 sdc, 1 sdc in each of the next 11 sdc, 2 sdc in each of the next 5 sdc, 1 sdc in each remaining st. 3rd Row. Ch 2, 1 sdc in same st, 2 sdc in each of the next 9 sts, 1 sdc in each of the next 11 sts, 2 sdc in each of the next 10 sts, 1 sdc in each remaining st and work 1 row even. 5th Row. Work in pattern same as Bonnet and Jacket. Work 4 patterns, skipping 1 sdc each pattern, next 3 patterns work 1 pattern in each st (center toe) continue around skipping 1 sdc, join and break yarn. 6th Row. With Pink work a row of pattern even and repeat row in White, break yarn.

INSTEP. Fold bootee long way and join Pink in 5th pattern from center of toe, ch 1, 1 sc in each of the 9 center patterns, sl st in next pattern, turn, 1 sc in each sc, sl st in same space with joining, sl st in next free pattern, turn, 1 sc in each sc, sl st to pattern, sl st in next free pattern, turn, 1 sc in each sc, repeat from * 5 times, break yarn. Join White in same space with last sl st and work a row of patterns all around, working 1 pattern in every other sc across instep. Turn and work 7 more rows of pattern, break yarn. Join Pink at top of bootee and work 13 sc down to center joining, 1 sc in joining, 13 sc up other side, ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first sc, ch 4, skip 2 sc, sl st in next sc, sl st in next st, repeat from * twice, turn, work 6 sc over ch, and 1 sc in each sl st between ch. Work a row of shells around top of bootees and trim with ch and pompoms same as jacket and bonnet. Work other bootee same, having opening on opposite side. Finish with small buttons.

Work first 8 rows same as bonnet, using Blue instead of Pink. 9th Row. With White work pattern, increasing in every 7th st and work 1 row even. 11th Row. Increase in every 8th st and work 1 row even. 13th Row. Increase in every 9th st. 14th Row. 1 sc in loop and 1 sc in eye of st, repeat all around. 15th Row. 1 pattern in every other sc, taking up back loop of st only. Work 3 rows of pattern even.

EAR TAB. Over 12 patterns work 4 rows even. Next 5 Rows. Decrease 1 st each side and work 1 row even. Skip 16 patterns for back of cap and 20 sts for front of cap and work other tab, to correspond. On right tab work a ch strap over 2 patterns. With Blue work 2 rows of sc all around cap forming a loop of ch 5 at end of strap and working sc over loop. In the free loop of 13th row, with Blue, work a row of sc for trim. Finish with Blue Pompom.

With Blue work first 6 rows same as Pink Bootees. Work next row and instep same as Pink Bootees in White. Join Blue in center sc of instep and work 7 rows of pattern, working back and forth, break yarn. Join White at top of bootee and work 13 sc down to center at joining, 13 sc up other side and top of bootee, working 2 sc in each pattern, sc at corner, ch 4, skip 2 sts, 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from * twice, sc in each remaining sc, 1 row of sc on other side and around top, taking up back loop of st only. Work a row of shells across top, taking up back loop of st only. This set may also be made in "Dawn" Saxony Yarn.
