Old Brocade Chair Set Pattern #7370
A filet crochet chair set worked from side to side from a chart, with chair back and arm pieces in mercerized crochet size 50.

Chair Back
Starting at one end, make a chain about 6 inches long (17 ch sts to 1 inch).
Dc in 8th ch from hook—a sp made; * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch—another sp made. Repeat from * until there are 28 sps in all. Cut off remaining ch. Ch 8, turn.
* Trtr in next dc—a long sp made; ch 5, skip 1 dc, trtr in next dc—a square sp made; ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with skip 2 ch, trtr in next ch. Ch 5, turn.
* Dc in next trtr, ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next trtr, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Ch 5, turn.
Dc in next dc, ch 2, dc in next dc—sp made over sp; make another sp over next sp; then make 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc—bl made over sp; make bl over each of next 3 sps, 1 sp, 3 bls, 1 sp, 4 bls. Continue across, following chart, ending with dc in 3rd st of turning ch. Ch 5, turn.
2 sps, 1 bl; make dc in next 3 dc—bl made over bl. ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc—sp made over bl; make another sp, 2 bls, 3 sps and continue to follow chart across. Work according to chart until 8th row is completed. Ch 31, turn.
Dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * 6 more times, ch 2, dc in next dc—9 sps increased; continue to follow chart across. Ch 8, turn.
Now follow chart until 51st row is completed (ending at top edge).
Follow chart to within last 9 sps—9 sps decreased, ch 5, turn. Now follow chart to end. Do not fasten off but work a row of sc all along outer edges.
Arm Pieces
Section between heavy lines indicates arm pieces.
Starting at side edge of arm piece make a chain about 12 inches long (17 ch sts to 1 inch).
64 sps; ch 8, turn. Continue to follow chart to opposite heavy line. Finish as for Chair Back.
