Antimacassar in Filet Crochet Pattern #64
A filet crochet antimacassar with armpieces and backpiece worked in size 30 mercerized crochet, following a pictured design with narrowed scallop rows.

- Milward's steel crochet hook · No. 8
Pattern instructions
Armpiece
Begin across short, straight edge. Ch 95, turn, dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2, dc in next. Repeat from *, 30 sps in row.
Turn, ch 5, dc in 2d dc. Make 2 dc in each sp, dc in each dc until 1 sp remains. Ch 2, dc in end.
Ch 5, dc in 2d dc, 1 dc each in next 3 dc. * Ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next. Repeat from * to last 4 dc of preceding row. Over them make 4 dc, ch 2, dc in end. In 4th row design begins.
Ch 5, dc in 2d dc, 1 dc each in next 3 dc, 9 sps, 1 bl, 16 sps, 1 bl, 1 sp.
From now on picture may be followed to narrowed rows at other end.
Turn, sl st along 1st sp and 1st bl. Ch 3 and work as usual. At other end of row omit 1 bl and 1 sp, turning as though at end of row. Make all narrowed rows in same way, following pattern for sts to be dropped.
Backpiece
Begin across straight top edge. Ch 284 and along ch work 93 sps.
1 sp, dc in each dc and 2 dc in each sp, until 1 sp remains. 1 sp at end. Continue, following pattern to narrowed rows. Make narrowed rows for side scallop. When finished work center scallop, making sure that 1st row is begun at end of 1st row of side scallop. Then make 2d side scallop, beginning 1st row next to end of 1st row of center scallop.
Fill sps of straight edges of all three pieces with sc, omitting sc around shaped edges.
