A charted grapevine filet runner about 21 x 10½ inches in size 30 mercerized crochet, originally published in Spool Cotton #118.
Materials
- Milward's steel crochet hook · No. 10 or 11
Pattern instructions
Runner
Starting at short side, make a chain to measure about 13 inches.
Dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch (sp made). Repeat from * across until 63 sps are made. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.
Dc in next dc, dc in each ch and in each dc across to within last sp (61 bls), ch 2, dc in 3rd st of turning ch. Ch 5, turn.
Sp over sp, dc in each of next 3 dc (1 bl made), * ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc. Repeat from * across row to within last bl, bl over bl, sp over sp. Ch 5, turn.
Hereafter follow chart from "A" to "Center". When work reaches center row, reverse the design, by working back from center row to 1st row. Break off.
