A 32-inch square filet crochet arabesque centerpiece worked from a quarter-chart in size 10 mercerized crochet.

Centerpiece
Chart shows one quarter of design. Always work to center of row, then omit center sp or bl, as the case may be, and follow chart back to beginning of row.
Starting at bottom of chart, make a chain 1 yard long (13 ch sts to 1 inch).
Dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * until there are 129 sps. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.
Dc in next dc (sp over sp made), (2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc) 17 times (17 bls over 17 sps made); (ch 2, dc in next dc) 3 times (3 sps over 3 sps made); make 20 bls, 3 sps, 19 bls, 3 sps, 19 bls, 3 sps, 20 bls, 3 sps, 17 bls, ch 2, skip 2 sts of turning ch, dc in next ch. Ch 5, turn.
Dc in next 52 dc (17 bls over 17 bls made); make 3 sps, 20 bls, 3 sps, 19 bls, 3 sps, 19 bls, 3 sps, 20 bls, 3 sps, 17 bls, 1 sp. Ch 5, turn.
1 sp, 2 bls, (ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc) 11 times (11 sps over 11 bls made); 11 bls, 12 sps, (11 bls, 11 sps) twice; 11 bls, 12 sps, 11 bls, 11 sps, 2 bls, 1 sp. Ch 5, turn.
Starting with 5th row, follow chart to top. Reverse chart and, omitting last row, work back to 1st row. Do not fasten off, but work sc all around, keeping work flat. Fasten off.
If desired, starch lightly, pin out to measurement and press.
