Notes
Softer crochet threads may be used, if preferred. The finished size will be correspondingly larger because of the size of the thread.
These instructions are for a 20-inch square pillow top. The design is worked in four sections and then sewed together. The lower right hand portion of the design is a simple grouping of tr and ch. The upper right hand section can be crocheted by following the working chart illustrated here.
Tr Mesh Block
To begin tr mesh block, ch 128, turn.
1 tr in 4th ch from hook, 1 tr in each of the next 3 sts, * ch 1, skip 1, 1 tr in next, ch 1, skip 1, 1 tr in next, ch 3, skip 3, 1 tr in each of next 5 sts, and repeat from * to end of ch (10 ch-3 sps with 5 tr after last sp). Ch 4, turn.
1 tr in each of next 4 tr of previous row, * ch 3, skip ch-3, 1 tr in next tr, ch 1, skip ch-1, 1 tr in next, ch 1, skip ch-1, 1 tr in each of the next 5 tr, and repeat from * to end of row. Ch 4, turn.
Repeat 2nd row. Make a second section like this one.
Insertion Block
To begin insertion block, ch 130, 1 tr in 4th ch from hook, and follow diagram. Each sp is ch-3 and 1 tr, each bl is 4 tr, not counting tr with which preceding bl or sp was closed. When this insertion block is completed, make a second one.
Place the four blocks in position as illustrated, and whip together carefully.
