Round Pillow Pattern

CIRCLE: Starting at center, ch 2.

8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join.

2 sc in each sc around.

* Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc (1 sc increased). Repeat from * around. Mark end of rnds.

Sc in each sc around, increasing 8 sc evenly. Repeat Rnd 4 thru Rnd 6 (48 sc); sl st in next sc.

Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 4, sl st in last sc for a p, sc in next 2 sc) repeated around: after 24th p, sc in next sc, join to back lp of 1st sc under 1st p.

Ch 1, sc in same place; working behind ps into back lps of sc, (sc in 1st sc between next 2 ps, p, sc in next sc between same 2 ps) repeated around; after final p, join to back lp of 1st sc.

Working in back lps, ch 1, sc in same st, p, sc in next sc, (sc in 1st sc between next 2 ps, p, sc in next sc between same 2 ps) repeated around; after final p, make sc in next sc, join to 1st sc at base of 1st p.

Ch 1, sc in same sc, (ch 1, sc in back lp of 1st sc between next 2 ps, ch 1, sc in next sc between same 2 ps) repeated around; ch 1, join thru both lps of 1st sc.

Sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, hdc in next ch-1 sp, (ch 1, hdc in next ch-1 sp) repeated around; ch 1, join to 2nd st of 1st ch-3. Repeat Rnd 11 twice.

Ch 1, * in next sp make sc, p, 2 sc, p; 2 sc, p in next sp; 2 sc, p, 1 sc in next sp; sc, p, sc in next sp; repeat from * around (60 ps); join to back lp of 1st sc. Repeat Rnds 8 & 9 twice (5 rnds of ps).

Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 1, sc in 1st sc between next 2 ps, ch 1, sc in next sc, ch 1, sc in 2nd sc between next 2 ps) repeated around; join (90 sps). Repeat Rnd 11 four times.

Ch 1, * in next sp make sc, p, 2 sc, p; 2 sc, p in next 2 sps; 2 sc, p, 1 sc in next sp; sc, p, sc in next 2 sps; repeat from * around (105 ps); join to back lp of 1st sc. Repeat Rnds 8 & 9 four times (9 rnds of ps).

Ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 1, sc in 2nd sc between next 2 ps, (ch 1, sc in 1st sc between next 2 ps) twice, ch 1, sc in next sc; repeat from * around; join to 1st sc. Repeat Rnd 11 three times (141 sps).

Ch 1, in each ch-1 sp make 2 sc, p; join to 1st sc. Repeat Rnd 9.

Ch 2, hdc in back lp of each sc around; join to ch-2. Fasten off. Weave 6 strands gold thread over and under hdc in Rnds 11, 12, 13; 20 thru 23; and 34 thru 36. Make a 2nd Circle.

SIDE BAND: Ch 282 slightly looser than usual; join.

Ch 3, sk 1 ch, hdc in next ch, (ch 1, sk 1 ch, hdc in next ch) repeated around; ch 1, join to 2nd st of ch-3. Repeat Rnds 11, 37, 9 and 39. Fasten off. Attach to one sp on other side of starting chain and repeat Rnds 37, 9 and 39. Fasten off. Weave 6 strands gold thread thru 2 rnds of hdc in center.

Pin pieces right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth. With wrong sides of Band and one Circle facing and working thru both thicknesses, attach Green, sc closely around, join and fasten off. Join 2nd Circle to other side of Band in same way, leaving 10 inches open, insert pillow and sc closely around remaining edge. Join and fasten off.

With gold thread, repeat Circle thru Rnd 4, then repeat Rnd 4 until piece is size of button.

Sc in each sc around.

* Sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc worked off as 1 sc (a decrease); repeat from * around; join and fasten off. Insert button. With needle and thread, pull edges taut across back. Make a 2nd Button. Sew one on each side in center of Pillow, pulling them tog. tightly.
