Buckingham Chair Set Pattern #7224
A filet crochet Buckingham chair set with spaces, blocks, and scalloped edges for the chair back and matching arm pieces.
Materials
- Milward's steel crochet hook · No. 11 or 12
Pattern instructions
Chair Back
Starting at top of chart, make a 20-inch chain (about 18 ch sts to 1 inch).
Dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch (2 sps made). Repeat from * until there are 89 sps. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.
Dc in next dc (sp over sp), * 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc (bl over sp). Repeat from * to within last sp (87 bls); ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Ch 5, turn.
Sp over 1st sp, dc in next 3 dc (these 4 dc make 1 bl); sp over next 85 bls, bl over next bl, sp over next sp. Ch 5, turn.
Beginning with 4th row, follow chart until last sp of 60th row is completed; turn.
Sl st to beginning of next sp (1 sp decreased), ch 5, dc in next dc, ch 2 and continue across to within last sp (decrease); turn.
Dec. at both ends of next row in same way; turn.
(Beginning of 1st scallop.) Dec. 1st sp, make 1 sp, 1 bl, 4 sps, 1 bl, 1 sp. Ch 5, turn. Now follow chart until scallop is completed. Fasten off. Skip 1 sp at base of scallop just made, attach thread at next sp, ch 5 and follow chart for next scallop. Work all remaining scallops in same way, but do not fasten off after last scallop. Work a row of sc all around chair back, making necessary decreases or increases at corners to keep work flat.
Arm Pieces
Start at top of chart. Make a 10-inch chain.
43 sps. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.
Follow chart, making scallops as for chair back. Work 1 row sc all around.
