BLOCK—In Soft Spun Yarn, ch 8, sl st in 1st ch.

Ch 4, dc in ring, (ch 1, dc in ring) 10 times, ch 1, sl st in 3d st of ch-4.

ROW 2—(Sc, ch 3, sc) in each ch-1 sp around.

ROW 3—Sl st in 1st sc, sl st and sc in next ch-3, (ch 5, sc in next lp) 11 times, ch 2, dc in 1st sc.

ROW 4—* (Ch 1, dc) 6 times in next ch-5 lp, ch 1, sc in next lp, ch 3, sc in next lp. Repeat from * 3 times. Fasten off.

ROW 5—In Skytone, (sc, ch 9, sc) in center ch-1 sp at one corner, * (ch 6, sc in next ch-1 sp) 3 times, ch 6, sc in next ch-3 lp, (ch 6, sc in next ch-1 sp) 3 times, ch 1, (sc, ch 9, sc) in next (center) ch-1 sp. Repeat from * around. Fasten off.

2d BLOCK—Repeat thru Row 4. ROW 5—In Skytone, sc in center ch-1 sp at one corner, ch 4, sl st in one lp of center ch of a corner lp on 1st Block, ch 4, sc back in same sp on 2d Block, (ch 3, sl st in next lp on 1st Block, ch 3, sc back in next sp on 2d Block) repeated across to corner sp, ch 4, sl st in one lp of center ch of corner lp on 1st Block, ch 4, sc back in same sp on 2d Block. Complete row as for 1st Block. Make 30 Blocks and join 5 x 6.

FLOWER—In Skytone, (ch 5, 3 dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 3, sl st in same ch) 4 times, sl st at base of 1st petal. Fasten off. Tack one lightly in center of each Block. In Soft Spun make a large French Knot in center of each flower.

EDGE—Working across a short side, sc in Skytone in corner lp, ch 10, dc in same lp, * ch 4, dc in next lp, (ch 3, dc in next) 7 times, ch 4, dc in joining of Blocks. Repeat from * around 3 sides, making (dc, ch 7, dc) in each corner. Across 4th side (top), (ch 1, dc in next lp) repeated across and join to 3d st of ch-10. Sl st in next 4 ch. Drop thread but do not cut.

RUFFLE—Sc in Soft Spun Yarn in same corner lp, * draw out lp 1" long, yarn over and pull thru, insert hook in single back strand of long lp, yarn over and pull thru, yarn over and pull thru 2 lps on hook (sc made,—completing a Knot St). Make a 2d Knot St, sc in next sp on Edge. Repeat from * around both sides and bottom of apron. At 2 lower corners (make 2 Knots Sts, sc) 5 times in corner lp. At end of row fasten off.

ROW 2—Pick up Skytone ch 12, sc in center sc of 1st Knot St lp. (ch 8, sc in next lp) repeated around. Ch 12, sc at base of end Knot St lp. Fasten off.

ROW 3—Sc in Soft Spun Yarn in ch-12 at start of last row, (2 Knot Sts, sc in next lp) repeated around to end ch-12 lp. Fasten off.

ROW 4—Join Skytone to start of last row, ch 10, *(2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in center sc of next Knot St lp, ch 8. Repeat from * around. Ch 10, sc at base of end Knot St lp. Fasten off.

BELT—In Skytone (ch 6, dc in 6th ch from hook) repeated for waist measure plus 30" for ties. Ch 6, turn, 2 sc in last lp, (ch 3, 2 sc in next lp) repeated to end. Ch 6, sl st in starting st. Fasten off.

ROW 2—In Soft Spun, sc in ch-6 lp at one end, ch 3, 7 dc in same lp, 2 dc in each sp around both sides, with 8 dc in ch-6 lp at other end. Sl st in top of 1st ch-3 and fasten off.

ROW 3—(Sc, ch 3, sc) in Skytone between 2d and 3d dc in one end lp, (ch 1, sc, ch 3, sc between next 2d and 3d dc) repeated around. Join and fasten off. Sew center of Band across top of apron.

Steam and press apron on back thru a cloth.
