Crochet Cap Pattern
Two-piece crochet cap for toddlers in 4-ply knitting worsted, worked flat with center increases, sewn together, edged with skipped stitches at the neck, and finished with a woven contrasting drawstring. Originally published in Speed Knits for Tiny Tots.

Pattern instructions
Cap
Ch 2, work 3 sc in 2nd st from hook. Ch 1 turn.
Work 1 sc in first st, 3 sc in next st (the center st of the group of 3 sc), 1 sc in last st. Ch 1 turn.
Work 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of last 2 sc. Ch 1 turn.
Work 1 sc in each of first 3 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of last 3 sts.
Continue increasing 2 sts in the center st of every row as given until there are 30 increased rows (2 yr. 32 inc. rows — 3 yr. 34 inc. rows). Fasten off. Work another piece to correspond.
Sew the 2 pieces tog. across the last rows of sc (see illustration).
Work 1 row of sc around entire opening, skipping every 3rd st across neck edge.
Using double strands of yarn, of a contrasting color, ch 130. Fasten off. Weave through the center of cap as illustrated.
