Pattern instructions
Crown
Wind each ball of thread in half to make 4 threads. Use 4 threads throughout entire hat.
Starting at tip of Crown, ch 4. Join with sl st to form a ring.
Ch 3, 10 dc in ring. Do not join rnds.
2 dc in 3rd ch of 1st ch-3, * dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around (17 dc).
* 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc. Repeat from * around (39 dc at end of 4th rnd).
Dc in each dc around.
Dc in each dc around to within last dc, 3 dc in last dc (these 3 dc indicate center back of cap).
Dc in each dc to within center dc of 3 dc-group, 3 dc in center dc, dc in last dc.
Dc in each dc to within center dc of 3 dc-group, 3 dc in center dc of 3 dc-group, dc in each dc to end of rnd. On the 13th rnd, end with a 3 dc-group, then make dc in next dc, sc in next 2 dc.
Brim
* Ch 3, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * to within 2 dc preceding 3 dc-group. Ch 1, turn.
Sc in 1st sc, * ch 3, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn.
2 sc in 1st sc, * ch 3, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn.
Sc in each of first 2 sc, * ch 3, sc in each of next 2 sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn.
Fasten off at end of 9th row. Turn the front of Brim back against Crown. Fold corners of back of Brim against Crown and tack in place. Steam and press.
