FILET BLOCK—(Size—6% inches when blocked)— Starting in center, ch 9, dc in 9th ch from hook, (ch 5, dcin same st) twice, ch 2, join with dc in 3d st of Ist lo.

ROW 2

ROW 2— Ch 3,2 dc over bar of last dc, dc innext st, *(3 dc, ch5, 3 dc) innext ch-5 corner sp, dc in next dc. Repeat from * twice. 3 dc in next sp, ch 2, join with dc in top of ch-3.

ROW 3

Mark the right side of this row as right side of Block. ROW 3—Ch 3, turn, 2dcin Ist sp, * dcinnext dc,ch5,sk5dc, dc in next dc, (3 dc, ch 5, 3 dc)incorner ch-5. Repeat from * around. End with 3 dc inend sp, ch 2, join with dc in top of ch-3.

ROW 18—Ch 5, turn, dc in next dc, (ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc innext dc) 5 times, follow Chart around with (dc, ch5, dc) in 3d (corner) st of ch-5 at each corner. End with ch 5, join with sl stin 3d st of Ist ch-5.

ROW 19

ROW 19—Edge—Ch 3, (2 dc, ch4, 3 dc) innext sp, * (ch 3, sk 2 sps, innext so make 3 dc, ch 4, 35 dc) 11 times, ** (3 dc, ch9, 3 dc) in corner ch-5, (3 dc, ch 4,3dc)innext sp. Repeat from * around, join to top of Ist ch-3. Fasten off.

Second Block

2d BLOCK

2d BLOCK—Repeat to ** in Row 19. 3 dc in corner sp, ch 4,slstin 5th(center) st of acorner |p on Ist Block, ch 4, 3 dc backinsame corner sp on 2d Block, 3 dc innext sp, ch 2, sl stinnext shell on Ist Block, ch 2, 3 dc backin same sp on 2d Block. Join each shell across side in same way, then join corner shellin same way as Ist corner. Complete row as for Ist Block. Join a 3d Block to 2d Block, then joina 4th Block to 3d and Ist Blocks. Make and join Blocks for de- sired size tablecloth.

Stretch and pin tablecloth right-side-down on quilting or curtain frames. Lay asection at a time over a padded table or ironing board. Steam and press dry thrua cloth. Repeat until entire cloth is blocked. When dry remove from frame.
