M ATERIALS... J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 9 balls of White or Ecru, or 11 balls of any color. Milward's steel crochet hook No.9 or 10. lyd. heavy linen, 36 inches wide. GAUGE: Each motif measures 4 inches square. When completed, luncheon cloth measures about 48 inches square.

Assembly

Assembly

Cut linen 33 inches square, and make a %-inch hem all around. Sew a strip of 2x 8 motifs to one side (joining motifs together with neat over-and- over stitches on wrong side). Sew a similar strip to opposite side. Then sew astrip of 2x 12 motifs to third side, joining last 2 motifs on each side to previous strips. Finish last side in same way. Join 4 motifs to form a square, pin to center of linen, and baste in place. Cut away excess linen, and hem neatly.
