2nd rnd: Ch 3(to count as dc), 2 dc insame place as sl st, * ch 3, skip 2 dc, 3 dc innext dc. Repeat from * around, joining last ch-3 to top st of Ist ch.

3rd rnd: Ch 3,dcinsame place as slst,* dcinnext dc, ch2,dcinsame dc, 2 dcin next dc, ch 4, 2 dc innext dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

A4thrnd: Ch3, dcinsame place as sl st, * dc in next 2 dc, ch 2, dcinnext 2 dc, 2 dcin next dc, ch 4,scinnextsp, ch 4,2 dcinnext dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

5thrnd: Ch 3,dcinsame place as sl st, * dcinnext 3dc,ch2, dcin next 3 dc, 2 dc innext dc, (ch 4, sc in next loop) twice; ch 4,2 dcinnext dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

6th rnd: Ch 3,dcinsame place asslst,* dcin4dc, ch 3, dcinnext 4 dc, 2 dcinnext dc, (ch4, sc in next loop) 3 times; ch 4, 2 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

7thrnd: Ch3, dcin5dc,*ch3,dcinédc,(ch4, scin next loop) 4 times; ch 4, dc in 6 dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

llth rnd: Ch 3, skip next dc, dc in2 dc, * ch 3, dcin3dc, (ch4, scinnext loop) 8 times; ch 4, skip next dc, dcin3 dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

2th rnd: Ch 4, skip 1 dc, trin next dc, * innext sp make tr, ch 5 andtr, skip 1 dc, 2 trinnext dc, (ch 5, sc innext loop) 9 times; skip 1 dc, 2 trinnext dc. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.

Picot Ridge... With right side facing, attach thread at base of Ist dc on 3rd rnd; work around outer edge of petal design as follows: Ch 1, sc in same place where thread was attached, ch 3, sc inbase of Ist dc on 4th rnd, *ch 3, dc in base of next rnd. Repeat from * to base of 12thrnd, ch 3,scinch-3 sp of 12th rnd (between tr's), ch5, sc insame sp, ch3 and work along opposite side of petal to correspond, ** work 3sc insp between petals, work around following petal in same way. Repeat from ** around. Join. Next rnd: In each ch-3 loop of last rnd make 2sc,ch3and2sc;inch-5 loops at tip of each petal make 3sc,ch5and 3sc. Fasten off.

SECOND MOTIF... Work 1] rnds as for Ist motif. 12th rnd: Ch 4, skip 1 dc, trinnext dc, trinnextsp,ch2,scin corresponding loop on Ist motif, ch 2, trinsame sp, skip 1 de, 2 trinnext dc, (ch 2, sc innext loop on Ist motif, ch 2, sc innext loop on 2nd motif) 9 times; skip 1 dc, 2 trin next dc, trinnext sp, ch 2, sc in corresponding loop on Ist motif, ch 2, trinsame sp, finishrnd as for Ist motif. Fasten off. Work picot ridge as before.

Make necessary number of motifs, joining adjacent sides as 2nd motif was joined to Ist (wherever 4 corners meet, join 3rd and 4th corners to joining of other corners).
