Easy Hook No. 7 Hot Plate Mat

Hot plate and platter mats made from joined green and white flower motifs crocheted over bone rings in pearl cotton or Knit-Cro-Sheen. Originally published in Spool Cotton #267, Quick Tricks in Crochet.

Pattern instructions

Large Platter Mat

Green Flower

(Make 40)...

1st rnd

Starting at center with Dk. Yellow and working over bone ring, make 36 sc in ring. Join with sl st.

2nd rnd

Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 5, skip 5 sc on ring, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

3rd rnd

Attach Hunter's Green to any loop, in each loop around make sc, half dc, dc, 3 tr, dc, half dc, and sc. Join and break off.

White Flower

Make 25

Work as for Green Flower, using White in place of Hunter's Green for petals.

Assemble

Sew flowers together, arranging colors as in illustration.

Small Platter Mat

Flowers

Make 25 Green and 14 White Flowers.

Small Mat

Flowers

Make 13 Green and 6 White Flowers.

Second mat

Make another Small Mat, reversing colors of Green and White Flowers.
