Pattern instructions
Hot Plate Mat Clover
Starting at center with Killarney and No. 2/0 hook, ch 2.
8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
Ch 1, * 3 sc in next sc (corner), sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join.
Ch 1, sc in each sc around, making 3 sc in center sc at each corner (48 sc). Break off.
First Leaf
Attach thread to center sc of any corner, ch 1, insert hook in same place where thread was attached, thread over and draw loop through, insert hook in next sc, thread over and draw loop through, thread over and draw through all loops on hook—1 sc decreased—sc in next 9 sc, work off next 2 sc as 1 sc. Ch 1, turn (11 sc).
Sc in each sc across (11 sc). Ch 1, turn. Break off at end of 9th row.
Second, Third And Fourth Leaves
Attach thread in same place as last sc on first row of previous leaf and complete as for First Leaf.
Long Petals
Starting at center with White and No. 7 hook, ch 8. Join with sl st to form ring.
Ch 3, 23 dc in ring. Sl st in top of ch-3.
Working in back loops only, sc in same place as sl st, * ch 12, sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in next ch, dc in next 9 ch, sl st in same place as last sc was made at beginning of petal, work off next 2 sts as 1 sc. Repeat from * around (12 long petals). Break off.
Round Petals
Starting at center with White and No. 7 hook, ch 14. Join with sl st to form ring.
Ch 1, make sc, half dc, 20 dc, half dc and sc in ring. Join with sl st.
Ch 15, sl st in 14th ch from hook (loop formed). Complete as for First Petal. Break off.
Centerpiece
Starting at center with White and No. 7 hook, ch 5. Join with sl st to form ring.
Sc in same place as sl st, (ch 5, sc in ring) 7 times, ch 5. Join to first sc.
* Ch 6, sl st in next sc between loops. Repeat from * around. Break off.
Place Centerpiece on top of Round Petals and Round Petals on top of Long Petals. Sew in place at center of Clover. Sew Clover to hot plate mat.
Napkin Holder
Work exactly as for Hot Plate Mat, making 2 sets of Clovers. Sew to Napkin Holder.
