Covered Ring
With double thread—1 strand of each color—work sc's over ring until the ring is completely covered (about 80 sc). Join with sl st. Break off.
With a darning needle and double thread, work as follows: Attach thread to wrong side of ring, then draw the needle through the sc directly opposite, * pull needle through next 10 sc to the left, then make a stitch in sc directly opposite. Repeat from * once more, then pull needle through next 10 sc and turn work on right side. Bring needle to center of these bars and fasten (thus making the 7th bar).
Then, working around in a circle, work darning stitch under-and-over until center measures about 1 inch in diameter, ending at the center of the larger space. Make a stitch to fasten, then draw the needle through the sc directly opposite, thus making the 8th bar. Fasten securely. Break off.
Assembly
Make 8 more rings same as this.
