Illinois Modern Tablecloth Pattern

Starting at center with Yellow, ch 6. Join with sl st to form ring.

Istrnd: Ch4, 23 trinring. Jointo top of ch-4.

2nd rnd: Ch 4, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr, make a tr around bar of next 2 tr, inserting hook from front of work, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (raised cluster made), * ch 5, make araised cluster around next 3 tr. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

3rd rnd: Attach Killarney to tip of any cluster, sc insame place, * working over next ch-5, make 5 dc between last tr of this cluster and first tr of next cluster on first rnd, sc in tip of next cluster. Repeat from * around. Join.

4th rnd: S| stinnext 2 dc, ch6, * skip 1 dc, holding back on hook the last loop of each dc make dc in next dc, skip next sc, dc in next dc, thread over and draw through allloops on hook (joint-dc made), ch 3, skip 1 dc, sc innext dc, ch 3, skip 1 dc, make ajoint-dc over next 2 dc, ch 3, skip 1 dc, innext dc make dc, ch3anddc, ch 3. Repeat from * around, ending with dc in same place as first ch-6, ch 3. Join to 3rd ch of ch-6.

5th rnd: Drop Killarney, attach Yellow to same place asslst,slstinfirstsp, 3scinsame sp, * 4scineach of next 2sps, 3scinnext sp, innext so make 2sc,ch3and 2sc,3scinnext sp. Repeat from * around. Join.

6th rnd: Drop Yellow, pick up Killarney, sl st innext sc, ch 4, (skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1) 7 times; * innext loop make dc, ch 3 and dc; (ch, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc) 9 times; ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd ch of ch-4.

7th rnd: Break off Killarney, pick up Yellow, make 2 sc in each ch-1sp and 5 scineach corner sp. Join and break off.

For Single Size Spread, make 14 rows of 22 motifs. For Double Size Spread, make 18 rows of 22 motifs. Sew motifs neatly together. Block to measurements.
