LARGE MOTIF. Ch8, join to form aring. Ist Row. Ch5, dcinring, *ch2,dcinring, repeat from * 5 times, ch 2, joinin 3rd st of ch 5 (8 spaces).
2nd Row. SlIst into space, ch 3,2 dcinsame space, * ch 3,3dcinnext space, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join.
3rd Row. Slstinnextdc, *ch10,scincenter dc of next group, repeat from * 6 more times, ch 3, dtrc, (3 times over needle) in base of Ist ch.
4th Row. Ch3,2dcinsame space, ch4,3dcinsame space, *ch3,(3dc,ch4, 3dc)innext loop, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join.
5th Row. Sl st to center of shell, ch 5,*1trcinsame space, ch 1, repeat from * 6 times, * chl1,scinnext 3ch loop, chl, 8trc withch1 between eachtrc in center of next shell, repeat from * all around, ch1,scinnext 3ch loop, ch], joinin 4th st of ch 5.
6th Row. * Ch8, skip 4 trc, sc in center space of scallop, ché6,scinscjust made, ch6,scinlastsc made, ché,sc inlastsc,scinsame space as Istsc,ch8,scinsc between scallops, repeat from * all around, join, break thread.
Second Motif
Work another motif joining it to Ist motif in last row as follows, ch 8, skip 4 trc,s cin center space of scallop, ch 6,s Cinscjust made, ch 3, join to corresponding picot of Ist motif, ch 3,scinlastsc made, ch6,scinlastsc,scin same space as Ists cand finish row same as Ist motif. Work a 3rd motif joining it in same manner and leaving 1 scallop free for small joining. Join 4th motif to Ist and 3rd motif in same manner.
Small Joining Motif
SMALL JOINING MOTIF. Work first and second rows of large motif.
Next Row. Sl st innext dc, * ch 4, jointo center picot of free scallop of large motif, ch 4, s cin center sl of next group of dc of small motif, ch12, sl st in 5th st from hook for picot, ch 7, slst between joinings of large motif, ch 7, sl stin picot, ch 5, slstin lst ch for picot, ch7,scincenterst of next group of dc of small motif, repeat from * 3 times, break thread.
Napkins
To make napkins to match. Cut a square of linen the size desired. Over avery narrow hem work arow of s Call around and finish with the following edge. Chl, skip 3sc, 5dcwithch]1 betweeneachdcinnextsc, chl, skip 3sc,scinnextsc, repeat from beginning all around. Make motifs following the directions of Ist 5 rows of tablecloth motif. Insert in linen cutting out the linen under the motif.
