Memories Chair Set Pattern #7507
A mercerized crochet Memories chair set of joined square motifs with cluster corners for the chair back and matching arm pieces.
Materials
- Milward's steel crochet hook · No. 8 or 9
Pattern instructions
Chair Back
Starting at center, ch 12.
Ch 1, 24 sc in ring. Sl st in 1st sc made.
Ch 4, 2 tr in same place as sl st holding back on hook the last loop of each tr, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made), * ch 5, skip 1 sc, 3 tr in next sc holding back on hook the last loop of each tr, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (another cluster). Repeat from * around. Join last ch-5 with sl st to tip of 1st cluster made.
Sl st in next 2 ch, sc in loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, in next loop make cluster, ch 5 and cluster (this is corner); ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-5 with sl st to 1st sc made. Fasten off.
Work 1st 2 rnds as for 1st motif.
Sl st in next 2 ch, sc in loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, cluster in next loop, ch 2, sc in a corner-loop of 1st motif, ch 2, cluster in same loop on motif in work as last cluster was made, ch 2, sc in corresponding loop of 1st motif, ch 2, sc in next loop on motif in work and work as for 1st motif, joining next 3 loops to corresponding loops of 1st motif as before. Complete rnd as for 1st motif (no more joinings).
Make 59 motifs in all, joining them as 2nd motif was joined to 1st (see illustration). Where 4 corners meet join 3rd and 4th corners to joining of previous 2 corners.
Arm Pieces
Make 18 motifs for each Arm Piece, joining them as for Chair Back (see illustration).
