WAISTBAND ... Work exactly as for Insertion No. 7773-A until there are 42 turning ch-5 loops on one long side. Break off.

SKIRT ... 1st row: Working along edge with 42 loops, attach thread to 1st loop, ch 3, in same loop make dc, ch 2 and 2 dc; in next loop make 2 dc, ch 2 and 2 dc (shell made), * (ch 3, shell in next loop) 3 times; (ch 3, shell in next 2 loops) twice. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 3, shell in next 2 loops. Ch 5, turn.

2nd row: * (Shell over shell) twice; (ch 3, shell over shell) 4 times; shell over shell, ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

3rd row: * (Shell over shell) twice; (ch 3, shell over shell) 4 times; shell over shell, ch 5. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn. Repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows alternately until Skirt measures 15 inches, ending with the 2nd row. Ch 5, turn.

PINEAPPLE BORDER. ... 1st row: * (Shell over shell) twice; ch 3, shell over shell, ch 3, in sp of next shell make 2 dc, ch 5 and 2 dc: (ch 3, shell over shell) twice; shell over shell, ch 5. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

2nd row: * (Shell over shell) twice; ch 3, shell over shell, 15 tr in next ch-5 sp, shell over shell, ch 3, (shell over shell) twice; ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

3rd row: * (Shell over shell) twice; ch 3, shell over shell, (tr in next tr, ch 1) 14 times; tr in next tr, shell over shell, ch 3, (Shell over shell) twice; ch 5. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

4th row: * (Shell over shell) twice; ch 3, shell over shell, ch 4, sc in next ch-1 sp, (ch 3, sc in next sp) 13 times; ch 4, shell over shell, ch 3, shell in next 2 shells, ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

5th row: * (Shell over shell) twice; ch 3, shell over shell, ch 4, skip next ch-4, sc in next ch-3 loop, (ch 3, sc in next loop) 12 times; ch 4, shell over shell, ch 3, shell in next 2 shells, ch 5. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

6th row: * (Shell over shell) twice; ch 3, shell over shell, ch 4, sc in next ch-3 loop, (ch 3, sc in next loop) 11 times; ch 4, shell over shell, ch 3, shell in next 2 shells; ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

Starting at First Pineapple, complete pineapples as for No. 7773-A. Run narrow ribbon through rows of Skirt between pineapples and through waistband. Sew ends in place. Cut remainder of narrow ribbon into 5 equal parts and tie in bows. Sew a bow at bottom of each ribbon. Cut wide ribbon in half and sew to Waistband for ties.
