Place Mat Pattern
Suggested place mat about 12 x 18 inches in Knit-Cro-Sheen or Speed-Cro-Sheen with a mesh stitch pattern and border worked as for Place Mat S-565. Originally published in Contemporary Crochet Throughout the Home.

- Milwards Steel Crochet Hook · No. 7 or No. 2/0 (double zero), depending on thread
Pattern instructions
Place Mat
Make a chain 24 inches long.
Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch, * ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next 3 ch. Repeat from * across until row measures 17 inches, ending with 3 dc. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 4, turn.
Skip first 2 dc, * (dc in next dc, ch 1) twice; skip next dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn.
* Dc in next sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in last sp, dc in 3rd ch of turning chain. Ch 4, turn.
Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows until piece measures 11 inches.
