Round Pillow Pattern
15-inch round pillow in Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn with Wheat, Cerise, and Antique Gold shell border rounds. Originally published in Knit and Crochet with Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn.
Materials
- Aluminum Crochet Hook · Size J OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW
Pattern instructions
Circle
With Wheat ch 2, 8 sc in 1st st of ch, do not join or turn this or following rounds.
Place a marker at beg of each round, 2 sc in each sc.
* Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * all around.
Working in sc inc 8 sts evenly spaced in each round but do not work inc directly over inc of previous rounds.
1 sc in each sc (48 sc).
Inc 8 sts evenly spaced.
1 sc in each sc (96 sc).
Inc 6 sc evenly spaced (102 sc), sl st in next 3 sc to even round, cut yarn.
BORDER: Attach Cerise in any sc, sc in same space, * ch 3, sc in same space, skip next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc (shell), skip next 2 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * all around ending to correspond, join in 1st sc, cut yarn, turn.
Keeping ch 3 loop to back of work attach Antique Gold between the 2 sc of same loop in st already worked in, ch 3, 4 dc in same space, * 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc in center st of next shell, keeping next ch 3 loop to back work a shell between the 2 sc of same loop in st already worked in, repeat from * all around ending to correspond, join in 3rd st of ch at beg, cut yarn, turn.
With Wheat work in same manner as last round but keep ch 3 loop to front of work.
With Cerise work same as 17th round. Work another section in same manner.
Finishing
Cut 2 sections of lining ½ inch larger than pillow. Sew sections tog leaving an opening, fill with Kapok and sew opening closed.
Sew sections of pillow tog leaving an opening. Place lining in position and sew opening closed.
