Round pillow cover in Flamingo Speed-Cro-Sheen worked in star stitch around a foam rubber pillow, 17½ inches in diameter. Originally published in Contemporary Crochet Throughout the Home.

- Milwards Steel Crochet Hook · No. 2/0 (double zero)
Pattern instructions
Side
SIDE (Make 2)... Starting at center, ch 2.
10 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
2 sc in each sc around (20 sc). Join.
Ch 3, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, draw loop through, insert hook in next ch and draw loop through, (insert hook in next sc and draw loop through) twice; thread over and draw through 5 loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (a star st made), * draw up a loop in fastening chain, draw up a loop in last loop of previous star st and in each of next 2 sc, thread over and draw through 5 loops on hook, ch 1 (another star st). Repeat from * around, omit ch 1 after last star st and sl st in top of first star st (10 star sts).
Ch 1, 4 sc in fastening ch of each star st around. Join.
Repeat 3rd rnd (20 star sts).
Ch 1, * 3 sc in fastening chain of each star st around. Join.
Repeat 3rd rnd (30 star sts).
2 sc in each star st around, increasing 20 sc evenly around—to inc 1 sc, make 3 sc in 1 star st. Join. Repeat last 2 rnds until piece measures 17½ inches in diameter, ending with a star st rnd. Break off.
Finishing
With wrong sides facing and working through both thicknesses, make 2 sc in each fastening chain to within 11 inches from the beginning. Insert pillow and complete rnd. Join and break off.
