To Change Color: Before drawing through last 2 loops of last dc of one color-group, drop this color, pick up 2nd color, thread over and draw through the 2 loops on hook. Continue with 2nd color, carrying the dropped color along top of previous row and working over it to conceal it.

BORDER. ... With yellow, ch 197 (10 ch sts to 1 inch). 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across (195 dc, counting turning ch as 1 dc). Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Dc in each dc across, dc in 3rd st of turning ch (195 dc). Ch 3, turn.

3rd row: Holding green along top of previous row, with yellow make dc in 17 dc (thus concealing green), changing color in last yellow dc. * With green, make dc in 3 dc, carrying yellow concealed in dc's and changing color in last green dc. With yellow, make dc in 18 dc, carrying green concealed in dc's and changing color in last yellow dc. Repeat from * across, ending row with 3 green dc, 6 yellow dc. With yellow, ch 3, turn.

4th row: 5 yellow, * 3 green, 6 yellow, 3 green, 9 yellow. Repeat from * across. With yellow, ch 3, turn.

5th row: 5 yellow, * 6 green, 3 yellow, 3 green, 9 yellow. Repeat from * across. With yellow, ch 3, turn.

6th row: 2 yellow, * 6 green, 3 yellow, 3 green, 9 yellow. Repeat from * across, ending row with 6 green, 3 yellow, 3 green, 12 yellow. With yellow, ch 3, turn. Fasten off green.

POCKET... Starting at bottom with yellow, ch 29. Work 1st to 12th rows inclusive of Border. Fasten off. With yellow, work a row of sc along both side edges. Fasten off.

FINISHING. ... Cut a piece of denim, 14 x 20 1/2 inches. Make a 1/4-inch hem on one long and two short edges. Shirr other long edge to measure 10 inches. Cut a strip 3 x 29 inches for waistband. Sew right side of center 10 inches of waistband along right side of shirred edge. Turn waistband over shirring to wrong side of Apron and sew in place, turning under raw edge. Sew remaining edges of band together; turning in raw edges. Sew crocheted Border to lower edge of Apron. Sew pocket in place on right-hand side. Make a buttonhole at one end of waistband and sew a button on opposite end.
