Intermediate Hook No. 5 Snood

Pattern instructions

Snood

1st row

To begin, ch 75 to measure 18 inches. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

2nd and 3rd rows

Sc in each sc across. Ch 1 to turn after the 2nd row and ch 5 to turn after the 3rd row.

4th row

* Sc in next sc, ch 5. Repeat from * across until 50 loops are made. Ch 5, turn.

5th row

* Sc in next loop, ch 5. Repeat from * across to within last loop, omit last ch-5 and make sc in last loop (1 loop decreased). Ch 5, turn.

Repeat the last row

Repeat the last row until 25 loops remain. Fasten off.

Side edging

Attach double thread to loop next to sc rows which extend beyond Snood, sc in same loop, sc in each loop around to sc rows at opposite side. Ch 1, turn.

Next row

* Sc in next sc, work off next 2 sc as 1 sc (decrease made). Repeat from * across to beginning of previous row. Ch 1, turn.

Following row

Sc in each sc across. Do not fasten off but ch 3 and work along starting chain as follows. Sc in next 10 ch, then work off 2 sc as 1 sc until 10 ch remain, sc in each of last 10 ch. Fasten off.

Button

Sew button to this end of extension piece. Use the turning ch-3 at opposite end for a buttonloop.

Bows

Make 4 bows with ribbon and sew evenly across extension piece.

Ring Trimming

RING TRIMMING (Make 14)

With Pearl Cotton, ch 6. Join with sl st. Then make 16 sc in ring. Fasten off. With another color, ch 6, pull end of chain through ring just made and join with sl st. Then make 16 sc in loop just made. Join and fasten off (a double ring made).

Assembly

Sew rings to Snood as desired.
