Hat and Bag Set Pattern #FV-394

Starting at back with Ecru, ch 6. Join with sl st to form ring.

Ch 3, 13 dc in ring. Join to 3rd ch of ch-3.

Ch 3, dc in same place as sl st, 2 dc in each dc around. Join.

Ch 3, dc in same place as sl st, * dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc (1 dc increased). Repeat from * around. Join.

Dc in each dc around, increasing 14 dc evenly around. Join. Repeat 4th rnd until piece measures 5 inches in diameter.

Sc in same place as sl st, * draw loop on hook out to measure 2 inch, thread over and draw loop through, insert hook between single and double loops and draw a loop through, thread over and draw through 2 loops on hook (knot st made); make another knot st, skip 4 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * around, leaving 4 inches free for back of neck. Turn.

* Make 2 knot sts, sc under double loop of next knot st (to the right of the knot), sc under double loop of next knot st (to the left of the same knot). Repeat from * across. Turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 6 inches (the last row of knot sts should be on right side of back).

Make 1 knot st, turn, * sc in next knot st, ch 3. Repeat from * across, ending with sc in last Knot St. Ch 1, turn.

Sc in first sc, * 3 sc in next sp, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across front, sc closely across side of knot sts drawing it in to measure 3 inches, sc across back, work across other side of knot sts to correspond. Join and break off.

Starting at center with Orange, make 24 sc in bone ring. Sl st in first sc. Break off.

Attach Blue, sc in each sc around. Sl st in first sc.

* Ch 7, dc in 4th ch from hook, half dc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in next ch (petal made), sl st at base of petal (in same place as sl st on 2nd rnd), sl st in next 2 sc. Repeat from * around (12 petals). Sl st in base of first petal. Break off.

With Green make a chain 2% inches long, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Break off. Sew 4 Flowers and 4 Stems to each side of Hat. Starch lightly and press.

Starting at bottom with Ecru make a chain slightly longer than outer edge of basket. Join, being careful not to twist chain.

Sc in same place as sl st, * make 2 knot sts, skip 3 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * around, ending with 2 knot sts, sl st in first sc.

* Make 2 knot sts, sc under double loop of next Knot st (to the right of the knot), sc under double loop of next knot st (to the left of the same knot). Repeat from * around (do not join rnds). Repeat 2nd rnd until piece measures 5 inches.

Make 1 knot st, * sc in next knot st, ch 3. Repeat from * around. Join and break off. Sew bottom to basket. Make 13 Flowers as for Hat and sew around basket.

Cut 3 strands of Ecru each 2 yards long. Twist these strands tightly, then double these strands and twist in the opposite direction. Draw cord through sps at top and tie ends securely.
